stophon This one in particular really shows the nowadays potential that Stefan had and has. A little bit different take on this genre with authentic black metal production. The Varg-like vocals really hit hard, especially in Liksom Frihet song, which is in Swedish.

Urizen The more I listen to Finnish band, Havukruunu, once known as Talvikuu, the more I like them. Their early stuff (barring the first two demos, which don't seem to be on Bandcamp) are very raw yet defined; they seem to call out for the despondent and lost, the ancient and the dark. From what I can tell in English, this demo is about the pagan folktale of finding yourself lost in a familiar forest. The atmosphere created by the riffs and caterwauling give testament to that. It's darkly enchanting. Favorite track: Lumottu.
